Love, Simon is finally out in theaters

Love, Simon is a 2018 romantic comedy that has been long-awaited by most teenagers and even some adults, and it is finally out in theaters. It was directed by Greg Berlanti and it’s based on Becky Albertalli’s acclaimed novel, Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. It revolves around a 17-year-old boy named Simon Spier whose life is a little more complicated than most. He has yet to tell his family or friends that he is gay and is scared of what will come. Simon is forced to balance his friends, and family, while also dealing with a blackmailer who is threatening to out him to the entire school. While all this is going on, he also is curious about who the identity of an online anonymous male classmate whom he has fallen in love with. Many people in this world can relate to Simon in this movie, as many are scared of the outcome of coming out of the closet as well. It is historically significant because this is the first movie focused on a gay romance to be released from a major movie studio.
