Artificial Intelligence, Real Consequences: A Plea for Human Priority

Over the past 3 years, AI has been greatly used amongst adults and teenagers. Though AI has provided us with unlimited information, there are major withdrawals with the utilization of this technology. AI is both fundamentally atrocious for the development of our brains, but also for the environment. The growth of AI only makes things worse in our environment as it consumes so much carbon just for AI training models. This is like traveling across the U.S. 313 times. AI also produces harmful electronic waste; this waste can be released in the environment and anguish our animals that take them. Students rely heavily on AI now in days and completely neglect their learning experience. They expect this technology to do everything for them such as schoolwork, homework, and other school assignments. Because of this, future generations can be highly dependent on these technologies for support for life; thus, this devolves our brains instead of advancing. Also, because of the use of AI many jobs now in days will be slowly replaced by these robots leaving barely any jobs left available for us humans.

Despite these negatives though, AI is a great source of knowledge, so instead of normalizing AI, we can use them for information that is necessary -like improving skills- so that we don’t overuse AI and help our economy. AI shouldn’t be your biggest priority, and it shouldn’t be your only source of information. AI should be a program to help make advancements in your life -for students it can help make improvements with writing, and provide tips to develop- and shouldn’t be your personal teacher. They should restrict the access of AI and limit the information the person can input.

For all I know, if we want to make our environment better, we should restrain ourselves from using these harmful devices and instead focus on making an impact in our environment. They’re taking up many of our resources; if we stop using them, our lives would be more easier. No more having to worry about our future because of some people speculating about a robot invasion outbreak. Instead, we should keep our environment clean.
