This is a World Series to remember. For the first time since 1945, the Chicago Cubs have a chance to win the World Series, something they haven’t done in nearly 120 years! The Indians of Cleveland haven’t been to the Series since 1997.
Chicago has a stacked team this year. Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, Jake Arrieta, and a bevy of others. Leading Chicago in batting average is possible National League MVP, Kris Bryant, with .292. Another young Cub is Javier Baez, this MLB season’s super rookie, who has a BA of .273. Jon Lester will most likely start as pitcher, with a possible appearance by Aroldis Chapman to close the game, if given the opportunity.
When it comes to the Cleveland Indians, we have a monster postseason pitcher on our hands by the name of Andrew Miller. Miller threw a gem against Toronto to advance to the World Series. In the first game of the Series, Josh Tomlin gets the nod to start.
You don’t want to miss this series, as it has the potential to go down in the history books. Will the Cubbies break the curse and, more importantly, break the 118-year long championship drought? Can The Tribe prevail and bring Cleveland it’s 2nd major championship this year, cementing themselves as Cleveland legends, among side LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers? Only one way to find out.
The NBA season is set to start October 25th, 2016.
