Scott M. Bowman 45-year-old former FBI agent in the bureau’s Los Angeles field office and 10-year veteran pleads guilty to stealing $136,000 in drug money. Bowman admitted to stealing about $136,000 in drug money that was seized in an operation back in 2014 when he was working on a gang task force based in San Bernardino, east of Los Angeles. Bowman also admitted to submitting false reports, forging signatures and asking another local police officer assigned to the task force to lie for him if questioned by anyone. The 45-year-old was fired from the agency in 2015 and now faces up to 70 years in prison as a result of his guilty plea to four criminal counts. Bowman spent $27,500 for a 2013 Toyota Scion and $43,850 to buy a 2012 Dodge Challenger. He also spent more than $26,000 to customize the cars with new rims and sound systems, and an additional $15,000 to pay for his wife’s plastic surgery.

Bowman’s attorney, James Spertus, said his client accepted full responsibility for his crimes.

“Mr. Bowman has paid a heavy price for his errors in judgment,” the lawyer mentioned.
