The Tesla Bot is making headlines

The Tesla Bot also known as “Optimus”, is the next grandiose thing when it comes to technology. Optimus is a general-purpose humanoid robot which is under development by Tesla inc. This invention was announced at the company’s Artificial Intelligence Day on August 19, 2021.  The company’s plan was to create a bi-pedal, autonomous humanoid robot that can perform any tasks it’s asked to do. To perform these tasks, the robot needs software that is built on stacks that enable navigation, balance, perception, and interaction to real world. According to Elon Musk, the price of Optimus starts from $20,000 to $30,000 when released. Over the years, the tesla bot has become more and more adaptive to human characteristics. For example, it was shown at the company’s Artificial Intelligence Day event, you could see a Tesla Bot interacting with people while you see other bots performing other jobs. A bot was seen bartending for the event and creating small talk with the guests. Other bots are seen dancing and taking photos. Within this invention the reactions for it have been rather controversial. While others find this creation fascinating and interesting, others tend to feel alarmed and worried about this robot. People are scared about the possibility of the robot malfunctioning. Movies have been released throughout the year about the future and the hypothetical apocalypse of robots turning against us. So, the question that leaves everyone with mixed emotions is: Is this robot beneficial or detrimental to the world?
