Falling in Love with Black History

By: Zane Cruz

In this month of February, we celebrate and praise all people of color: cheering them on their triumphs and achievements and celebrating how far they have come as a community and as a people. After hundreds of years of being vilified, misrepresented, and treated as lesser, they have opened our eyes and minds to their uniqueness, love, and their creativity.  They have fought for their place in society, they deserve to be recognized and eulogized.  So, in the words of Dr. Mae Jemison, we remember to, “Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.” To celebrate Black History Month, a few of our students created a few love letters for some of this month’s memorable figures, sending them love and kindness.
