Luka Dončić, the rookie that shook the NBA

Who is this kid that is tearing up the NBA on a nightly basis? Luka Dončić! This rookie is surprisingly breaking records and playing like an All Star in just his first season in the league! Many have speculated his game and one of the main reasons he is exploding and tearing the league is because he played professional ahead of time in comparison to other rookies who played in college. Dončić was playing in the EuroLeague with the Real Madrid Baloncesto team since 2015 and at the age of 16! In a nutshell, it’s pretty self-explanatory as to why he’s so good at such a young age (19). Playing that much in a professional team prepared him in all aspects of his game so as soon he got to the NBA, he’d be just a tad bit below/right next to the other point guards in the league! He’s very tall for the position(s) he plays; 6’7; and he plays a mix of 3 positions: point guard, shooting guard, and small forward.  Now that he’s in the NBA playing for the Dallas Mavericks, he’s taking advantage of his skillset and showing what he’s got under his skin. As a rookie in his first season, he’s averaging 19.8 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 4.8 APG, 1.1 SPG, and 0.3 BLK. He is doing amazing and has already placed himself in the conversation of being a top 20 point guard in today’s NBA! Don’t be surprised if you hear his name in the news, it’s for a reason!
