President Obama is expected to announce Monday the approval of 200 additional military personnel to support local forces inside the war zone Syria battling the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The president will make the announcement Monday in remarks at the Hanover Messe fairgrounds in Germany as part of his farewell tour of Europe. In December, President Obama admitted publicly for the first time that a small contingent of 50 or so elite U.S commandos has begun working inside Syria to tighten the squeeze on ISIS. President Obama made the announcement of the pre-planned incursion, intended to prove that his administration is stepping up the fight against the extremist group.
