Dolphins fire Offensive Coordinator Bill Lazor

On Monday, November 30, 2015, the Miami Dolphins fired Offensive Coordinator Bill Lazor. The man behind the decision to fire Lazor was Interim Head coach Dan Campbell who was reported saying, “I looked at it last night on the plane ride home. … I wanted to make sure I was making the best decision that I could. I looked at everything, and I feel like offensively we’ve been anemic for five weeks now. I feel like we’ve tried to do a number of things. It didn’t work out.”

Under Bill Lazor, the Miami Dolphins (now 4-7) only averaged a deplorable 20.5 points a game (27th in the NFL) and have run the ball less than any other team in the NFL this 2015-2016 season. The one filling the shoes of Offensive Coordinator for the rest of the season will be the Dolphins Quarterback Coach, Zac Taylor. Taylor has made it clear to the team that he is striving for a more run-oriented approach opposed to Lazor’s pass heavy game plan. “We believe in this system, what we’ve been doing,” Taylor said. “We just have to find ways to be more effective.”
