Hawks Take Flight With New Spirit Week Traditions
By: Suanny Aguila
Every year, Spirit Week brings a burst of energy to Miami Springs Senior High School, but this year feels different. With new theme days, student-led events, and louder cheers echoing through the halls, the school’s spirit is reaching new heights. From Pajama Day to the iconic Class Color War, students are planning on dressing up, showing out, and making memories they’ll talk about long after graduation.
According to our amazing Student Government leaders, this year’s Spirit Week was carefully planned to make everyone feel included. They introduced more activities during lunch, like fun competitions to get free Chick-fil-a, to bring students together in a fun, unique way. It’s a great way to get everybody involved. It’s not just about the outfits, it’s about feeling like one big family. Spirit Week is more than just dress-up days; it’s a celebration of Golden Hawk pride.
The energy has also helped boost student involvement. More people than ever are signing up for clubs and sports after seeing their classmates participate. Even teachers are joining in by coordinating matching outfits. Students agree that it’s cool seeing everyone come together; it makes school feel less like school.
With the pep rally coming up, the excitement is only growing. Administrators hope this renewed school spirit continues throughout the year, encouraging students to show up not just for games and dances, but for each other. As the Hawks soar higher, one thing’s clear—school spirit is back and stronger than ever.
