Inflation’s Grip: How Rising Prices Are Impacting Everyday Life

Have you ever been to the store and bought a bag of chips for 50 cents? Well, neither have I. 

In recent years, the economy has faced tremendous issues, especially inflation. Inflation is defined as the rate of increase in prices over a given period, it has not only affected a small bag of chips. Life has become too expensive as inflation has affected an abundance of things, things we humans use in our daily lives. This includes food, gas, and water. 

Vroom, vroom 

Many years ago, driving from place to place was fun. Nowadays, not so much. The price of gas has increased an insane amount, reaching prices as high as $4.92 per gallon. In the U.S, especially Florida, we cannot walk to our destinations, instead we heavily rely on our own personal transportation, but with gas prices increasing from $2.13 to $4.92 this has significantly impacted us, especially to those who are not fortunate enough to be spending this ridiculous amount of money every time a destination needs to be reached. 

Crunch, crunch 

Not only have gas prices been affected, but so have what we need to survive. Food should not be something citizens struggle to buy, there is absolutely no reason as to why my family is spending over $300 per grocery-store trip, In the past, a weekly supply of groceries cost less than $100 for 3 items. Prices have risen and will continue to rise. 

Drip, drip 

Did you know that the Earth consists of 75% water? With this information, you could assume water would be cheap or entirely free of price. However, it’s quite the opposite. Before you could buy gallon of for $12 but now you can find prices as high as $30 per gallon. This is unfordable for many families in America. 

Inflation has grown a lot these past few years and has become hard to live for all. It affects everything, especially things we need for us to survive.
