Clean waters, not so clean
By: Justin Santos
The everyday natural waterways you see are in oceans, canals, and lakes. You may consider them clean and sanitary. However, that is NOT the case. From the state of Florida there have been multiple tests done to assure the residents that their waters are pristine. Results have given and proven the shocking truth about contamination in our backyard. The effects of contamination have been counted on multiple accounts such as: Fish and wildlife dying, killing agriculture, dirty waters, etc.
One of the three main contaminators is Agriculture runoff. Agricultural runoff is when rain washes over farmlands, it can pick up chemicals like pesticides and fertilizers, which then flow into nearby waterways, causing imbalances in the ecosystem. Which causes an upset in the wildlife.
