Texas has been through a lot of heartbreaking moments in the past few months, but their strength was put to the test on Sunday, November 5, 2017, when a young white male entered a church and killed about 26 people and injured many more. The New York Times states that the gunman entered the small Baptist church in rural Texas and just opened fire.
The gunman was identified as David Patrick Kelley, a 26-year-old male that died shortly after the attack. Kelley had been in the Air Force in 2012 and had been charged for assaulting his wife and child. The victims range from the ages 5 to 72; among the children was the pastor’s daughter who was merely 14 years old. This is the deadliest mass shooting Texas has ever experienced, additional to the unfortunate deaths, there were at least 20 people injured.
