Exhausted from long hours at work or school? Oh friend… it seems like you are in need of a getaway. The question is…where to go? One of the hardest decisions when it comes to planning vacations is deciding where to visit. There are so many breathtaking places to travel that pinning down a location can be daunting. Do I go in the winter or in the summer? Deciding between sunny beaches or a marvelous European city is quite difficult.
However, once you decide on place, you have to work out the intricate details of hotels, restaurants, sites to visit, etc. Let’s say your choice is a Caribbean island. With this option, you have a huge variety of beaches and places you can visit just a short plane ride away. Here some recommendations:
Varadero, Cuba: Only a 45 minute plane ride to this enchanting island. You can enjoy cheerful music, delicious food, sunny beaches, and warm hospitality. As most Cubans say, Cuba has an eternal summer. Therefore if you are looking for a great tan and a tall glass of Mojito, you found the right place.
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Searching for crystal blue waters with fine sandy beaches? You must go to Punta Cana – a place with much culture, great golfing, and warm waters.
Cancun, Mexico: Interested in scuba diving, interacting with dolphins, or visiting pyramids? Get yourself a ticket to Cancun. You will have the chance to taste original Mexican tacos, live the spicy experience, enjoy tequilas, and leave with a golden tan.
Nassau, Bahamas: Want to go on a trip to paradise? Visit the Bahamas – a cruise lovers wonderland. You can gamble in a casino, learn about the legendary Blackbeard, visit historic sites, enjoy nature, or delight yourself on a sandy beach .
In case you choose to go for a European vacation, here are some suggestions:
Rome, Italy: Oh la la, bella Italia! Enjoy a travel back in time in the majestic city of Rome where you can visit places such as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, and St. Peter’s Basilica just to name a few. You can rent a car and drive north to the city of Pisa and wonder at the leaning Tower or take a short train ride to Venice for a romantic gondola ride on the quiet back canals. And for the pizza and pasta lovers, make sure you diet before this trip! This is your chance to taste exquisite Italian food.
Paris, France: Have a “magnifique” stay in the city of lovers. Visit attractions such as the majestic Tour Eiffel, historical Arc of Triumph, or captivating Musee du Louvre. Enjoy romantic walks through a Parisian street or take a night cruise on the Siene. Live the experience by getting lost in the crowd, and let the feel and magic of this enchanting city fill your nights with romance and delight.
London, England: Visiting this metropolitan city during winter is a winter wonderland and an opportunity to enjoy its beautiful Christmas markets. Also, remember to visit Buckingham Palace, run the ramparts of the Tower of London, take a ride on the London Eye, and have a photo-op in front of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
Tokyo, Japan: Take a longer plane ride to this traditional, yet modern city and you will not regret it. See tranquil temples, checkout Tsukiji Market, and walk under beautiful cherry blossom trees down the Sumida River. Visit the Imperial Palace and the Edo-Tokyo Museum. At night, experience the wondrous lights of the grand billboards that flood the skyline. Don’t forget to try as much tantalizing Japanese food as you can handle.
If you don’t really feel like leaving the country, visiting places near you such as Walt Disney World will give you a chance to feel like a child again. Wherever you choose to go, you will spend an awesome time relaxing and discovering new places that you would love to visit again and again.
