Is LBJ still the greatest?

By: Carlos Lassalle

LeBron James, known as the greatest basketball player in the NBA, is now in conversations of possibly not being the greatest in the league anymore. After all, LeBron has been overlooked for the past three seasons, his performance has only gotten better, but there are other NBA players on the rise. His competition in the league at this moment is Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Paul George, and Karl-Anthony Towns. LeBron James has won the MVP Award 4 times, the NBA Finals MVP 3 times, has been an NBA Champion 3 times, and has been an NBA All-Star 13 times. He has gone to 7 straight NBA Finals till this day and his record in the NBA Finals hasn’t been the best as it’s a 3-5 record. Many think for James to be recognized as the best basketball player of all time (over Michael Jordan) he should win more titles, which is his goal. He is waiting for the season to start, he’s excited and thinks that the Cavaliers (team he plays with) have a great chance to do something special. LeBron has averaged 20+ points per game since he came into the league, he has played for 14 seasons. The stats are there, the awards are there, so,  where are the reporters getting that he is no longer the best basketball player alive? James’ competition consists of players that are in MVP talks and Most Improved Player talks. The news is serious, as LeBron’s time in the NBA shortens up, the superstars will rise and eventually, someone will be better than him. On the other hand, LeBron will be the greatest basketball player for the next 1-3 years, so it’s good news to all the nerve-racking news surrounding him.
