The Rise of Artificial Intelligence in Everyday Life

Evelyn Learning

There is a current rise in the use of artificial intelligence, or as most people know it, AI. Each day, more and more people are using AI. Over the past year, its usage has significantly increased, with many individuals using it as a virtual assistant, for help with homework, or simply for fun—such as creating short stories. However, as AI continues to advance, there is growing concern about the possibility of it gaining too much influence over the human population in the future. Currently, around 72% of organizations are using AI, compared to just 55% the previous year.

There is also growing concern about how AI is impacting education, particularly in how it may enable students to cheat and avoid truly learning the material being taught. As a result, many teachers have implemented strict rules, such as banning phones in classrooms and checking to ensure students have put them away. According to Turnitin, “Of the more than 200 million writing assignments reviewed by Turnitin’s AI detection tool over the past year, some AI use was detected in about 1 out of 10 assignments, while only 3 out of every 100 assignments were generated mostly by AI.” This raises concerns about students losing the ability to comprehend and retain the material they are supposed to learn.

Overall, AI plays a major role in modern life and has a deep impact on how people live and learn. As its use continues to rise, it’s important to consider how it affects human behavior, responsibility, and the future of education.
