If I Stay is a story about a girl named Mia Hall, whose life changed in just a matter of seconds when a car accident put her into a coma. In the middle of her coma she underwent an out-of-body experience, during which she was faced with a life-changing decision. She had to choose between whether to wake up and live a far different life than she had imagined or to take the easy way out and pass on.
